Tour at 13:00

Report from Hafsúlan and Elding: We sailed once again from Keflavík in the hope of finding the whales which had been in the area previously and we finished the tour in Reykjavík. The snowy landscape all around was beautiful and the weather was a lot better than it was in the morning. There was a lot of bird activity, numerous huge flocks of Eider ducks were sitting on the water and there was quite a few Northern Gannets circling the boat. Some birds were feeding which may have been a sign that there was some fish in the area but unfortunately we didn´t see any cetaceans on this tour. We gave out complimentary tickets at the end of the tour so our passengers could try again.

Tour at 09:00

Report from Hafsúlan: The snow from the previous days gave everything a wonderful winter feel, it even carried on snowing during the tour. We sailed from Keflavík and searched west along the Reykanes peninsula, previous tours had given us good sightings at that location so we were hopeful that we would see something there. The sea conditions in the morning were quite rough so for a while the tour became quite exciting as we battled the sea. There were a lot of birds in the area with a large number of Northern Fulmars dominating the sky and the water. Unfortunately we didn´t see any cetaceans on this tour so we gave out complimentary tickets at the end of the tour so everyone could come again another time.
