Tour at  13:00

Report from Hafsúlan: the sun was shining on us when we sailed out on the calm bay this afternoon. We headed straight to the area where we had been getting the best sightings. It did not take us a long time to find the first group of white-beaked dolphins. These dolphins were travelling 4 together but we unfortunately did not get a very good look at them because they were spending so much time under water.  We decided to sail towards a flock of feeding gannets, although we found no cetaceans there we could enjoy these beautiful birds that were diving down for fish. While we watched the birds we noticed splashes in few hundred meters distance, we went to see what was making them and it turned out to be another group of dolphins. This time the group was twice as big with 8 individuals and they came up much frequently, few of them were very curios surfacing right next to the boat. A little further we spotted 2-3 harbour porpoises but because of their small size it was hard to spot them.  In the end we saw amazing group of 7-8 white-beaked dolphins, they all seemed curious and kept swimming around us and under us again and again for some time. We would have loved to be able to stay longer with these friendly dolphins but we were running out of time and we had to head back to land. On the way we were lucky enough to see our last group of dolphins jumping up in the air making splashes that were easily seen within few hundred meters distance.

Report from Hafsúlan: it was a little chilly when we got on the boat this morning but fortunately it was not so windy and the waves were very small so the sailing was soft and easy. After around 40 minutes sailing we saw a flock of birds feeding in one area, mainly kittiwakes, we headed there and soon spotted 2 white-beaked dolphins surfacing close to the boat. One of the dolphins seemed very curios and it swam around us and few times went under the boat. We sailed a little further out and saw a group of 3-4 white-beaked dolphins jumping up in the air but when we got closer they calmed down and got more elusive. We than found two other dolphins that were more friendly and we got a good look at, we followed them for a while until we had to head back to the harbour but then they started to follow us! It was a beautiful sight seeing these animal playing in the waves that were made by our boat, we could both see them swimming under water and jumping up. While we enjoyed these cheerful dolphins we spotted another group of 4-5 dolphins in front of us and they were also jumping up in the air!
