Tour at 13:00

Again we set off, prepared for worsening weather, but it stayed pretty similar to the trip this morning. We set off to the same area and found the Minke whales again. This time some we were even able to spot a Minke whale lunge feeding at the surface. Lunge feeding is when the whale lunges its body towards the surface with the mouth open, catching the fish. The dolphins were nowhere to be seen this afternoon but we were able to spot the feeding Gannets again. In all we spotted about 6-8 Minke whales throughout the trip.

Tour at 9:00

We set of on quite a wet and windy trip this morning and the waves were pretty high, especially towards the end of the trip. We headed out to our usual whale-watching area and were able to spot a group of white-beaked dolphins. One dolphin was jumping up several times out of the sea and we could watch it from a distance. We found 6-7 Minke whales on the trip, some of them coming quite close to the boat and not diving for very long, which is always good news for us whale-watchers! We were also able to watch a group of Gannets feeding, which is always pretty spectacular. So in all it was a very nice trip in spite of the rough weather and a little bit of seasickness ;)
