Tour at 9:00
We were lucky to be able to go out on the bay right before the storm. There was full overcast but fortunately it didn't rain so much during the tour, these conditions are the best for spotting whales because the clouds reflect on the sea making it bright and that makes it easier for us to spot the dark animals when they come to the surface. We had sailed for an hour or so when we spotted a blow in a great distance, we traveled towards it and found out it was a humpback whale! This was just an amazing sight, we have not been getting many humpbacks lately in Faxaflói so we were literally jumping with joy. We had a great time with the humpback, we saw it surfacing many times and its fluke came out of the water at least twice. We stayed with the whale until we had to go back to the harbour.
