Tour at 13:00

The weather was very nice, calm sea and the sun was peaking out from the clouds. The puffin island was nice but the whales were hiding from us, except three harbour porpoises which showed up two times before disappearing. We sailed quite far out, searching for whales and even though there were great conditions for whale watching and we got a lot of help from our passengers we were not able to find the whales this after noon. So we offered some complementary tickets.

Tour at 9:00

Perfect weather for whale watching. Flat calm sea and great visibility. It took us a while before we saw our first cetacean and it was a shy pod of Harbour Porpoises that weren't that playful so we headed further out. It wasn't long before we came across some more Harbour Porpoises and this time they were a lot more fun, surfacing many times and quite close (within 30 meters). Then da da daaaa.. A Minke Whale spotted YAY!! we followed this whale for a little bit but you could tell it didn't like our presence so we let it be and headed further out. It wasn't long before we came across another Minke Whale and this time we could get a great look. We still had a little more time so we headed towards a flock of active birds (Gannets, Gulls, a skua, Razorbills, Puffins, Guillemors and Fulmars) and did we strike lucky, two Minke Whales, one surfaced very close (about 50 meters) EXCELLENT! We ended the tour at Puffin Island and saw many sitting on the rocks, land and water. Great end to a great tour.
