Report from Elding: This evening we finally got the rain to stop, at least partially. And with a very private tour of just over 20 passengers we went out into Faxafloi bay once more. After an elusive encounter with one harbour porpoise, this time we did not have to wait for long to find our first minke whale either. This time the individual was less elusive and we could enjoy its company for about 15 minutes until we deciced to move on and look for what else is out in the bay. And only another 20 minutes and lots of puffins later we were rewarded with the first humpback whale of the day. The animal seemed very relaxed and kept going for deep dives, showing us its tail. A perfect finish for a perfect day.

Report from Elding: Even though a light rain was our companion during the whole, the sea state couldn't have been better as we enjoyed mirror-sea surface, ideal conditions for sailing and whale watching. As soon as we left the harbour we spotted a minke whale, it was an elusive animal so we continued our trip. After a while we encountered a pod of 6 white-beaked dolphins who were approaching to us easily. Once we decided to return to port we encountered again the minke whale we left behind and this time we could enjoy it much better as it surfaced close to us. Overall a wet but great experience in Faxafloi.

✔ TOUR ON SCHEDULE  | at 9:00

Report from Elding: This morning we started on a dead-flat sea, but with overcast skies and constant, light rain. While sailing into the bay, we had two encounters with a total of 3 harbour porpoises. Shy as they are, we did not stop for them but continued our journey, enjoying quite a few puffins and other seabirds on our way. After a little bit more than an hour we finally found one pod of white-beaked dolphins. With lots of fish around us, they were most likely feeding, came up to our boat once really close and then played around a rib boat next to us. It was a real joy to watch them leaping out of the water and simply enjoying themselves. Now we are looking forward to what else we might spot on the next tour.
