Tour at 14:00

Report from Elding: We knew it was gonna be tough but we gave it a try nonetheless! Winds were fiercely blowing from the north-east, as we sailed across the east shore of the Faxafloi up close to Esja, the Whale Fjord, Akrafjall and Akraness. Almost at the beginning we spotted one harbour porpoise, quite close to the puffin islands. Then, once we reached the town of Akraness we saw... something. It was black, round, and looked like was floating in the bay. Was it a seal, maybe a basking shark? We'll never know, since as soon as we approached the "thing" it just went down for a dive and disappeared! So we resumed our sailing, trying to find some more cetaceans but unfortunately it didn't work today. So we came back to the harbour almost empty handed BUT all our costumers would have the chance to come back again with us thanks to the complimentary tickets they got at the end of the tour

Tour at 13:00

Report from Eldey: Sailing out, conditions were still rough with winds from the north. This made spotting quite difficult and unfortunately we did not spot any cetaceans for the entire trip. On of our deckhands spotted a minke whale on our left, but as we tried to spot it again, it had disappeared. Our passengers were offered complimentary tickets.

Birds seen today: atlantic puffin, eider duck, northern fulmar, northern gannet, lesser black-backed gull, and kittiwake.
