Tour at 17:00

The wind had picked up quite a bit on this tour but still it was relatively smooth sailing in the bay. We started at Puffin Island and once again not disappointed with hundreds waddling about the island. We then headed offshore to the main area of the day. We did spot someWhite-beaked Dolphins (5-7 individuals) in the distance but as we got closer the pod seemed to have reduced to 2-4 dolphins, where the other went too, no one knows. They seemed to be resting and so travelling slowly and not really interested in us. They surfaced a couple of times but then dived and we didn´t see them again, but whilst we were waiting for the dolphins the crew saw a blow from a Minke Whale a couple hundred meters away. We went to the area and unfortunately the Minke wasn´t seen again. We had to start heading back then and after 20 minutes we saw another blow but again the whale did not want to show up more than that. All the animals seemed to be resting, relaxing for the next feeding frenzy starts again, when ever that will be. Complimentary tickets given and hopefully the evening tours will start becoming more productive soon.

Tour at 13:00

Report from Elding:Two of our boats went out on this tour. the weather had pretty much stayed the same as the morning tour, perhaps with cloudier skies, however. We headed straight out into the bay on this tour to the area we went and was successful this morning. There wasn´t as manyHarbour Porpoises on this tour but still enough for passengers to see and hopefully photograph them, but you had to be quite as they move fast. We also got to see Minke Whales at least 3 or 4 Minke Whales but again they were quite elusive, not letting us get too close. However, at one point we were waiting for a Minke Whale to surface at 11 o´clock for a few minutes when it or another individual surfaced just 10 meters from the boat at 1 o´clock. It only surfaced once though before going for a deep dive and disappearing. We ended the tour at Puffin Island and saw hundreds of them.

Report from Hafsúlan: Starting in Reykjavík older harbor we headed out into a mirror calm bay. Once we were a bit further out we spotted the first Harbour Porpoises, it was a pod between 5 to 10 individuals around the boat. After that we sailed far out into the bay and searched for a long time until we got the news about a Minke Whale. We headed straight into the area having moreHarbour Porpoises, which seemed to be in the whole bay. When we came into the area we found the Minke Whale straight ahead! It was great to stay with the individual as it surfaced many times around the boat. We left it when we ran out of time and made a stop at the Puffin Colony Akurey on our way back. Great afternoon in a mirrored calm bay!

Tour at 09:00

A stunning morning to whale watching. Mirror calm seas and perfect visibility to show the beautiful mountains and other landscape of Iceland. We started at Akurey (Puffin Island) and saw hundreds if not thousands of Puffins flying around, swimming on the water or poking their little heads out of their holes on the Island. We then headed further offshore to find the whales. We sailed for about 30 minutes before we found ourselves surrounded byHarbour Porpoises (20-30 + surfacing all around the boat) 10 minutes after this area we found the Minke Whales, at least 5-10 in the area, some close some km´s away. We tried to get closer to a couple of them but they wouldn´t let us get to close. Still, the passengers got a great look before heading back to the harbour.

Seabirds seen on todays tours include; Puffins, Guillemots, Arctic Terns, Fulmars, Kittowakes, Arctic Skua´s, Gannets, Black-beacked Gulls, other seagulls, Eider Ducks and Brent Geese
