Report from Eldey: Weather was similar like in the morning, but the swell, especially further out, got a bit bigger to the enjoying of most of our passengers. Again we had to start sailing against the wind and swell but our captain did his best to make it as comfortable as possible. In fact some of our guest had a great time experiencing this 'roller coaster'. We found plenty of sea-birds flying in the wind around us, especially the northern gannets put up a nice show hunting around us. We also got to see arctic skuas hunting arctic terns and of course some Atlantic puffins. When we turned our boat direction harbour and started sailing back with the wind, the ride became much smoother. It was again fun to spent the afternoon out at sea and experience the real Icelandic weather. Unfortunately we only got some quick sightings of some harbour porpoises passing by on this tour, so we offered everyone complimentary tickets in the hope they gonna be more lucky on another tour.

Report from Eldey: Throughout the tour the weather changed a lot, from clear to cloudy skies including sunshine, rain, hail and a little snow. Far out we found an area with a lot of activily feeding sea birds. On a little more southern course than in the morning, so closer to Reykjanes peninnsula, harbor porpoises where sighted briefly in between the birds. After circling in the area for a while we suddenly spotted a minke whale. It surfaced quite often, but was hard to follow since it's position changed unpredictably and the conditions were challenging in the large swells. We could detect a lot of fish with our depth detecter on board so it is likely the whale was feeding in the area. The sailing back to harbour felt smooth and warm with the wind in our backs.

Tour at 09:00

Report from Eldey: We had a real surprise regarding the weather in the morning: flat sea and sunny sky where promising conditions to start. With in the wind in our face we sat sail against the waves out to the bay. It was a nice Icelandic experience at sea starting with a drastic change from sun to rain and back to sunshine and at the end of the tour even hail and snow! We had a really great enjoyable tour, especially on our way back as we were traveling with the waves, but unfortunately the cetaceans did not show up. Therefore everybody on board was offered complimentary tickets, so everyone can have a shot again and hopefully more fulfilling sightings.
