Tour at 17:00

The weather was still really good when we headed out to find the whales. After a short time we found a minke whale! This one was being little bit hard to follow so we decided to head further out. Only few minuets later we spotted our second minke whale. We were able to follow this one for a little time but then we saw splashes in a distance! And again we saw them! The white beaked dolphins! Wow they were so nice surfacing so close to us many together and many times! We stayed with them for a while and sure they were amazing! Very nice tour!

This tour was amazing. First of all it was perfect whale watching weather, calm sea, blue skies and great visibility. The first cetacean we saw was a Minke Whale that surfaced many times and on a couple of occasions less than 20 meters from our boat. Then it was a pod of White-beaked Dolphins jumping and twisting in the air. Two baby dolphins with this pod too which was great to see. Then it was a flock of Diving Gannets and feeding Harbour Porpoises that were rolling and coming only a couple of meters from us. If that wasn't enough we saw another Minke Whale but this one was lunge feeding, coming right out of the water. Absolutely incredible!!!

Tour at 09:00

With the Puffin season over, we headed straight out into the Faxaflói bay but before we had gone very far, we saw a huge splash not too far away. Could it have been a Humpback whale? We went to check it out but it never showed up again so we decided to let it be and were not disappointed. A large pod of Harbour porpoises crossed our path and not very long after our first Minke whale. The last one was very shy and dove away soon so we had to be a bit patient and perseverant. But in the end we found two really friendly Minkes surfaced very close to the boat so we stayed with them for a while. On the way home another pod of Porpoises to top off a very pleasant tour in fantastic weather.
