Tour at 13:00

Report from Eldey: After a rough past week, we got treated with gorgeous weather today! Sure, it was cold as hell, but we got a glorious sunshine for the whole duration of the tour. What's best is that we found a pod of white-beaked dolphins only half an hour after departure! There was a dozen of individuals, surfacing playfully around the boat, coming closer to check us out, breaching the surface nice and slowly. Needless to say, we got wonderful opportunities for photography. Best kind of encounter! After spending quality time with these dolphins we went exploring further away, trying to spot other species of cetaceans. We did see plenty of cormorants and european shags flocking, which was nice, but sadly no whales or porpoises. So we eventually turned back, had additional looks at the dolphins, before slowly returning to the harbour while breathing in the surroundings.

Bird species seen today include: northern fulmar, great cormorant, european shag, great black-backed gull, icelandic gull, little auk, northern gannet, northern fulmar, common guillemot & eider duck

We are sailing out from the Old Harbour in Reykjavik on this cold but beautiful day. Hope you are able to join us today on our search for these magnificent animals in their natural environment.
