Tour at 13:00

Report from Hafsúlan and Elding: The wind had calmed down, it snowed less on us and the sea conditions were much better than in the morning tour. Because of high number of passengers we went out on two boats. We split up to look over a bigger area. Finally Hafsúlan was able to spot a pod of 4-5 white-beaked dolphins.  We were only able to follow them for a few minutes before losing sight of the dolphins.  This was the only citation that was seen on today’s tour so because of this we gave out complimentary tickets. We did however find many seabirds on this tour around a town called Akranes and they were all resting on the water.

Tour at 09:00

Report from Hafsúla : It was a rather windy and a cold morning out on the bay. It didn’t stop snowing on us until we were half through the tour so our complimentary overalls were used by most of our passengers. The visibility was not very good with low and thick clouds preventing us to enjoy the mountains around us. We sailed north towards a small fishing town called Akranes and there we found many sea birds mainly fulmars. Unfortunately we did not get to see any cetaceans on the tour and for that reason we offered our passengers complimentary tickets.

Birds seen on today's tours: eider duck, common guillemot, northern gannet, glaucous gull, kittiwake, black-backed gull, and european shag.
