Tour at 13:00

Report from Hafsúlan: the wind was increasing trough out the day so the swells got also a little taller than in the morning tour. still the conations were quite good for spotting animals. We decided to sail towards the area where we saw the humpback whale on the morning tour but it was a long way so we were of course looking for signs of cetaceans on the way. we found a pod of 4-5 white-beaked dolphins after about one our sailing. they were really calm and easy to follow. We got a great look at the dolphins while they swam around in the area. We spent a good time with them but finally decided to keep on searching for more animals. We sailed towards Reykjanes peninsula where we were able to get easy journey and a good view off the landscape.

Tour at 09:00

Report from Hafsúlan: this morning the water surface was flat-calm and no white tops; the mountains were beautifully snow-covered and the view over to the Snæfellsnes Peninsula was as good as it could ever get, with the glacier being the crown. We went out in the direction to where they had seen the humpback whale on yesterday's afternoon tour, passing through the area where all the dolphins had been on Tuesday. Nothing was seen for most of the tour but it was so calm and beautiful that it almost did not matter. Then a blow! And then another a few minutes later! And a back. There was a humpback whale around 8-900 meters away. We sailed in its direction but had to wait a while until it exhaled again. It seemed clear that this whale was anything but interested in showing itself well and it was past the time when we had to return to Reykjavik so we had to leave it behind. On the way back we saw one dorsal fin but its owner did not show more of itself. We were not content enough with this tour so we decided to give everyone a complimentary return ticket so that they can come with us free of charge another time in the hope for better sightings.
