Report from Elding: Less wind, more sun and more whales this afternoon! “Tattoo” the humpback greeted us on our way out and as we went further south than in the morning, we found an area with 3 feeding humpback whales. They really put on a show, rolling on the sides and even breaching!!! Two minke whales mingled in the action as well. Absolutely great tour with nothing missing.

Report from Elding: I hope everyone packed their sunscreen and sunglasses, because summer is back in Iceland! A super sunny morning but a strong breeze coming from the northwest still had us take out our hats. We had not even passed the island Engey when we spotted a minke whale and a young humpback whale both feeding. Encounters so close to the harbour are more rare, so this was a surprise for everyone. We stayed around half an hour but then wanted to sail further out to see what else was in the bay this morning. It was at the mouth to Hvalfjodur that another humpback whale we know as Tattoo showed itself. It clearly recognized our boat, coming within less than 10m of us, super calm and slow. As it was a lot windier and wavier though, we left around 20 minutes later, finding another 2 minke whales close to Mt Esja and plenty of more sunshine on our way back to harbour.
