Tour at 13:00

Report from Elding: We sailed out from Hafnarfjörður today in good conditions for whale watching, calm seas and little wind. We had the wind from the east so we sailed straight out with the wind at our back for a smooth sailing up to Keflavík. Hopes were high for today as we saw some cetaceans yesterday and we managed to cover a large search area. Unfourtunately there were no cetaceans to be found in the bay today, perhaps for lack of food or simply because they did not want to talk to us. We did however enjoy the beautiful landscape of the Reykjanes peninsula during our sailing and got a good look at the town of Keflavík as well as some of the seabirds flying around the boat.

Birds seen on today's tour: Glaucous Gulls, Iceland Gulls, Razorbills, Eider Ducks, Kittiwakes.
