Report from Eldey: The weather was still capricious this afternoon, it was slightly raining for the whole duration of the tour, but the sea conditions greatly improved since this morning ! Thus, we could resume to the regular departure from the Reykjavik Old Harbour. With less wind comes warmer temperatures, so at least we were not cold, and we had relatively calm sea free of white caps ! We were just a bit annoyed by the rain. But it is not a problem with whale watching, the animals we want to witness are constantly wet, so that is nothing that would harm our chances to see whales ! Despite good whale watching conditions, our efforts were fruitless. There was one Minke whale spotted by some passengers, but it dashed away from us and disappeared after surfacing about three times. On two more occasions we had suspicions of other cetaceans, but never were we able to properly spot a cetacean. The bay did not seem empty, but we only came across reluctant cetaceans that did not give us a single chance. A reminder that we are humble in front of nature, and all that there is to do is to try again until perseverance pays off - so we proposed complimentary tickets to our passengers. Better luck next time!

Report from Eldey: Due to unfavourable conditions we sailed from the harbour in Hafnarfjörður this morning. It was raining a bit at first but it soon let up and it stayed dry for the rest of the tour which was nice. Since we were the first ones out there wasn't anyplace in particular that we wanted to go so we just sailed slowly around the bay. The search continued until it was time to head back to the harbour but unfortunately we were unsuccessful in our search for cetaceans. This is unpredictable wildlife so there are no guarantees but of course we are always disappointed when we don't see something. Therefore we offered all of our passengers complimentary tickets which are valid for two years so they can come on another whale watching tour with us and hopefully we will have better luck next time!
