Tour at 13:00

Report from Hafsúlan: The weather was getting pretty good when we headed out again this afternoon. The sun was even peaking out from the clouds. We first spotted a group of harbour porpoises. They were very nice swimming and surfacing all around the boat. Further out we found some minke whales. The first one was the star of the tour, surfacing 4-5 times very close to the boat and came up with the pointed snout first. Absolutely wonderful whale. We spotted some more minke whales but they only surfaced 1-2 times before disappearing. There were also lots of diving gannets and feeding birds. All together very successful tour

Report from Elding: There was still some leftover swell on the bay but the tour was great. When we came to an area with lots of feeding birds we were sure we'd hit the jackpot and we were right. There were few minke whales in the area and the first one we spotted was really close to the boat. It surfaced a few times in front of the boat and then came right up to the side of the boat giving our passengers an excellent view. The other minke whales kept a bit more distance but we could still see them fairly well. In the same area we also saw a lot of gannets in full action so all in all this was a successful tour :)

Tour at 09:00

The weather conditions were quite rough when we sailed out to Faxaflói bay this morning. Soon we spotted some harbour porpoises. But they disappeared very quickly. It took us a long time to find the whales. We found lots of birds in one area and another group of harbour porpoises but no big whales. Finally we found another flock of feeding birds and some minke whales. The whales were in a good mood and came quite close to the boat so we could have a good look at them. Quite rough but successful tour.

Birds seen on the tours Gannets, fulmars, kittiwakes, guillemots and even few puffins
