Report from Eldey and Hafsúlan: What an afternoon, very windy, rainy and  blustery tour but everyone was wrapped up warm and ready to be out in the elements. We were very lucky on this tour that we found an awesome humpback whale close to the island viðey, as we headed north towards the mountains to gain shelter from the winds. A wonderful humpback whale that at first seemed shy and only surfacing once before going on long dives but soon, we guess due to the whale finding shoals of fish it begame a little more predictable and even looked to be interacting with the whale watching vessels as it surfaced just meters away from all of us in turn. After a while the whale was also showing its beautiful fluke (tail) as it wnet on deeper dives and a nice high one as we left the Mr. Humpie to feed in peace. A perfect example where everything comes together in challenging weathers. AWESOME!

Report from Eldey: Overcast skies and strong wind that picked up during the tour tested our passengers this morning. Non the less, wearing our overalls, everyone was comfortable outside as it came to the moment when we encountered a pod of at least  6 white-beaked dolphins. They were quite difficult to spot at first, being very spread out, but then they came together and even enjoyed showing us how they bow ride and surf the waves. Watching a mother and calf pair stay close together and surface in synchrony was also very special. We stayed with them for around 30 minutes when, suddenly, they all surfaced once more and then dissapeared. Clearly they had something more important to do, like hunt fish or just give their calf a rest from all the playing. Naturally we fully respect this and would never have gone chasing after them, but instead appreciate the encounter we had. Sailing back we had some scenic landscape and the islands of Kollafjöður to take in, giving us protection from wind and waves and also a quick glimpse of 2 harbour porpoises in the water and a group of whooper swans up above.
