Tour at 13:00

Report from Hafsúlan: The wind was supposed to have calmed down on this tour but it felt much the same. We saw no minke on this tour but we did have a wonderful time with a pod of White-beaked Dolphins (7-15 animals) which seemed to alternate between feeding and playing around the boat. They were breaching leaping and surfacing meters from the boat so that everyone could see them. It was a beautiful day out in Faxafloí, just wish for the wind to calm down a bit to get a more comfortable sailing. Some really enjoyed it though and stayed at the front of the boat for most of the tour.

Tour at 09:00

Report from Hafsúlan. Sailed out from Reykjavik in windy conditions, we tried to make the tour as comfortable as possible, getting shelter from the mountains but the boat did rock and there was a couple of green faces at the end of the tour. We had a very successful tour with an incredible Minke Whale, maybe two that surfaced many times and even less than 10m from our boat on a couple of occasions. Looked to be completely at ease with our presence. After a while though the minke went for a dive and didn´t show itself again. We were about to head home but then we got work from another whale watching boat about a small pod of White-beaked Dolphins. We got there and there seemed to be about 3-4 animals, which like the minke, surfaced many times next to the boat. Everyone got a great look. It the end it was a very beautiful and successful morning.
