Report from Eldey: The light was beautiful. The sun going down on Snæfellsjökull made the sight just outstanding. We were sailing throughout the bay, exploring different areas, The wind had picked up a bit, but sailing while enjoying the sunset was just a pleasure. We were searching tireless all around the bay, but unfortunately, we didn´t have the chance to encounter these animals. Our passengers had enjoyed the sunset onboard and the were cheerful when we offered them the opportunity to come back again, free of charge, in the next two years.

Report from Eldey: It was a sunny tour this evening, even with a strong wind, our passengers were outside most of the time. If we saw a lot of interesting birds, like the northern gannet, the norther fulmar or the atlantic puffin, it has been hard to find cetaceans. We were scanning the surface all the time, looking for the signs of their presence but we were really surprised during the come back to Reykjavik, when we saw a minke whale a few meters from the boat. It was swimming fast so we only saw it surfacing two times. We had two other similar encounters with minke whales during the trip back to the harbour. It seems that some individuals are travelling to the south. Because our passengers couldn´t see those whales, we offered them to come back for free in the next two years.

Report from Hafsulan:  The sun was warming our faces while sailing througout the bay. The wind had picked up, but the temperature was still really nice so most of the passengers stayed with me the whole trip. We were having a calm tour with a lot of eyes scanning the sea surface continuosly. The visibility was really good and our hopes were high. The views from the surrounding mountains were really beautiful but, unfortunately, the animals we were looking for did not appear in our sight. Nevertheless, our passengers understood that this is wildlife and they were truly happy when we gave them the opportunity to come back, free of charge, with one of our complimentary tickets.

Report from Eldey: The wind had picked up a bit since the morning, but the sun was still up and we enjoyed sailing in the sunshine. We went in the direction of the area where there had been some dolphins on the previous tour, but unfortunately we did not find them there, so we sailed a bit further out in search for some cetaceans. This time nature seemed to be challenging us and we were unsuccessful in finding any cetaceans on this tour, but ofcourse we want our wonderful passengers to be able to see these magnificent animals so we gave them complimentary tickets, allowing them to come back on another tour for free. We hope to see their beautiful faces again soon!

Tour at 10:00 Report from Hafsúlan: It's hard not to be in a good mood when the sun is shining and the weather is sweet. We headed West-Northwest towards Akrenes and had to face a bit of a stronger wind coming down from the mouth of the fjord. We were soon rewarded with a sighting of 20-25 white-beaked dolphins that swam all over the area, did some bow riding, jumping and diving under our catamaran. We even had two mothers with their calfs in this group. After some time we encountered another group of approx. 10 animals, but these were not as playful as the first group because they seemed to be quite busy hunting for food. We took some nice shots and some greater memories.

Bird species identified today: eider duck, atlantic puffin, northern fulmar, arctic tern, great black-backed gull, lesser black-backed gull, northern gannet, manx shearwater, common guillemot, black-legged kittiwake.
