TOUR STATUS: RUNNING
Tour at 13:00
Report from Eldey: The weather was perfect at the beginning of the tour. The sun had warmed us up and the sea conditions were the same as in the morning. We were full of energy and sailed optimistic out onto the bay after the successful tour this morning. During the tour the wind picked up a lot, the sea became choppy and it was challenging to spot animals. We searched around many flocks of birds of various species, that dove actively down for food. This was a good indicator that plenty of fish was found in the bay. However, it was difficult to find any cetaceans , and after 3 hours of searching without success we had to sail back to Reykjavik. Everyone was given a return ticket so hopefully our passengers will be luckier next time.

Report from Eldey: We sailed out under beautiful weather conditions this morning with the red sun rising and incredible colours around us. We went out pretty far, about 13 nm. We were already turning back when we spotted some dolphins ahead in front of us. We were soon surrounded by about 6-8 cheerful white-beaked dolphins. We spent some time with these mammals and were continuing our journey home. Most of the passengers were already inside the saloon, warming up a bit, when I suddenly heard "Big blow, 12 o'clock!" coming from my earpiece. We rushed forward and we managed to have some lovely encounters with two minke whales. This was a nice way to end this tour, gazing at the beauty of these gentle giants.
