 TOUR CANCELLED | at 19:00

 TOUR ON SCHEDULE | 17:00

Report from Eldey: The clouds were covering the sun. The sea was a bit choppy but, we didn't have any green faces on board. We were sailing throughout the bay until we got to an area  with some northern gannets feeding and then we spotted some harbour porpoises going away. We were in the area for a long time but we did not see any signal of a whale so when we headed back to the harbour we offered our passengers the chance to come back with us free of charge.

Report from Elding: Also this afternoon was windy, but the sun shone through the clouds most times making our faces warm up a bit. We decided to search through Kollafjödur for the beginning of the tour, as we had not searched here for quite some time and often whales or dolphins come in this area to explore, feed or enjoy rubbing themselves on the rocks along the shoreline to scratch themselves and thus get rid of bothering parasites. Sailing towards Akraness and then southwards, we kept searching but without success. As we know that this can change within only a few hours, we encouraged our passengers to get their complimentary ticket to come out for another try at spotting whales and dolphins of Faxaflói.

 TOUR ON SCHEDULE | 13:00

Report from Eldey: We sailed out with the waves still being quite choppy, but the sun showing itself much more on this tour, we sailed out about 10 nm away from the harbour and looked for the whales for a long time. We finally spotted some spouts at 12 o'clock and moved in to see better. Other than the dozens of northern gannets plunge diving around us we saw 2 minke whales that surfaced around us and allowed us to have a few very nice looks at it between 30-80 meters away. A challenging tour that turned out to be quite spectacular.

 TOUR ON SCHEDULE | 10:00

Report from Elding: True Icelandic experience today with cold northerly winds keeping us fresh during our tour. It was rather choppy with many white caps on the waves, but using shelter from the surrounding landscape or just going with the waves kept the sail smooth for the majority of the time. Only when we sailed into the wind coming from the eastern part of the bay did we have a real adventure at sea, which definitely was fun for the most of us. And while the adventure was definitely there, whales sadly were missing on this trip, possibly as they had moved out further in the bay than we go on our tours. Thus we offered complimentary tickets for a return trip, maybe smoother, maybe adventurous again.

 TOUR ON SCHEDULE | 09:00

Report from Eldey: The wind was blowing this morning so i felt like really the winter is coming here to iceland. At the beginning of the tour we headed towards Akranes looking for the shelter of the mountains and then slowly we salied towards our ususal spotting area, trying to have a nice encounter with some leviatan in the bay. It was quite difficult because of the waves, but we had the opportunity to see 2 harbour porpoises, this tiny cetaceans are a little bit shy so we did not stopped the boat. At the distance we saw how many northern gannets were looking for food but because of the sea conditions it was hard for us to spotted some cetaceans, so we gave the opportunity to our passenger to come back for free with a complementary ticket.
