Report from Eldey: The afternoon tour was brilliant in its whole sense, the wind picked down even though we could feel the cold Arctic blow in our faces but we had the sun blessing us with non-stop charming rays. With these conditions nothing could stop us from our main goal: spot some cetaceans, and we did! It took a while but a pod of 4-5 white-beaked dolphins came across out of nowhere. They were difficult to track and rather elusive so we continued with our trip until we were able to find a minke whale which surfaced several times very close to our boat. While we were waiting for this individual to re-surface another one was spotted in the distance. Later on, in our way back we saw another pod of 2-3 white-beaked dolphins and we enjoyed the beautiful views that Faxafloi had to offer us with fresh snow over the mountains.

Report from Eldey: This morning it was very cold and we had to face strong winds from the North during our tour, but the sun was shining the whole time, allowing us a beautiful view of the surrounding landscape. While taking in this amazing picture we had to search for cetaceans a little longer. Finally, we came across a pod of about 3 white-beaked dolphins, surfacing a few times next to the boat. It was only a brief encounter as they were rather elusive. After a few minutes of sailing, a minke whale came up twice a short distance from the boat, but vanished just as quickly. The same happened with a pod of about 2-3 harbour porpoises. Towards the end of the tour we got lucky again though, as two other minke whales surfaced close to the boat and this time repeatedly, so everyone could enjoy a good look at these beautiful whales.
