Report from Eldey: The bright sun held through the entire tour. The cold light could not make better justice to our stunning surroundings. The weather was in our favour, as sea conditions were perfect for spotting. Nevertheless this was a challenging ride. Apart from pods of 4 to 5 harbor porpoises that we saw a couple of times, it was not possible to find any other cetaceans species during this trip. The crew screened the area intensively, but this time without attainment. Depending on whatever mood or behaviour our whales and dolphins are display at the moment, they might be easier or harder to track. That is part of the deal when working with wildlife. Thus, we provided our passengers a second opportunity to come again on another whale watching ride with, in another attempt to see these beautiful creature. By the end of the tour, all our passengers were holding a complementary ticket I their hands.

Report from Eldey: A windy but wonderfully sunny morning today. Sailing out we had the sun rising higher and higher into the sky, making the snow on the mountains sparkle. Once we were further out from the harbour, birds became more and more plentiful and also our depth sounder, which conveniently also lets us see if there are a lot of fish underneath the boat, was showing more and more fish. So we slowed down our pace to be sure we do not miss out on any blow, black back or other signs we keep our eyes open for. Once we had taken course towards the West, we encountered a flock of more than a thousand sea birds, mainly northern fulmars, a truly spectacular event to witness. Also fish were all over our fish finder, but it seems like the whales had not yet passed by this area and thus were not seen this morning. But with all signs this promising, they are sure to show up anytime soon, maybe even in our afternoon tour and thus we offered comlimentary tickets to our passengers for a free return whale watching trip during which we and the whales will hopefully redeem themselves.
