Tour at 13:00

The weather was the same when we sailed out from Hafnarfjörður again this afternoon. After searching for a long, long time just out of the blue one whale surfaced not very far from our boat. Some of our passenger saw it and screamed "We saw a whale" But the whale was diving for quite some time and we thought it was gone. Then it surfaced just 60 meters in front of us and lifted its tail. It was a Humpback. The whale was not in a good whale watching mood, it was diving for a long time and surfacing very far away. We tried to follow it but it was very difficult and then it disappeared.

Tour at 09:00 We sailed out from Hafnarfjörður this morning. The wind was calm but there was a bit of swell from the previous night. We sailed very close to land in the beginning, then further out. We spent a long time searching for whales in a big area but no sign of them. So we gave our passengers complimentary tickets. Hopefully more luck this afternoon. Birds seen on the tours: Fulmars, Gannets, Black back gulls and lots of Eider ducks.
