Status: RUNNING FROM ANONTHER HARBOUR

Tour at 13:00

Report from Eldey: Weather was just amazing! Sunny and almost no wind! As we started so good, with smiles and sun in our faces, it was obvious that it will be great tour. After small struggling in finding whale this morning we were prepare that it could take some time. But not this time! Humpback whale was waiting for us just out side the harbour. Literally, it take us 5 min till we found this animal. It was the same individual seen earlier today and yesterday. What was more interesting, this whale had exactly the same plan for a tour as we! We sailed side by side one way along the clifs, till humpback turn back, and continue with us on the way back. We spend all hours of this tour in company of one particular whale which seems to don't mind our presence. It was very special tour.

The light this morning was beautiful, sun low in the sky and often the sight of it´s rays fighting through the clouds. Just gorgeous to be out on the ocean with calm sea and snow covered landscape. Birdlife was incredible with a variety of birds we only see in the wintertime, little auks and divers being the most incredible to see. We swept the area´s thoroughly back and forth along the coastline. It was a third sweep much closer to land after 2 hours of sailing before we found our Humpie, the same individual as the day before. Patience and determination is always needed when working with wildlife and this morning proved that. The humpback whale was travelling fast but in the end had a nice close encounter before we had to head back to port. An awesome time out at sea.
