Tour at 13:00

Report from Hafsúlan: the sailing out on the bay was calm because then we were travelling with the wind and the swells. We headed straight to the area where we had seen the dolphins on the morning tour. The area had changed since this morning, we didn’t see as many birds and those that we saw were not diving as frequently down for fish like they had been doing this morning. This was a clear sign that there was not as much food in the area and that might have been the reason why we could not find any dolphins nearby. We travelled further out until we spotted a group of 4 harbor porpoises but it was hard to spot their small bodies coming up between the waves so we lost sight of them after only following them for a short time. Unfortunately that was our only sighting of the cetaceans, all of our passengers got complimentary tickets that they can use for going on another tour with us sometime within two years.

Tour at 09:00

Report from Hafsúlan: it was very windy and wavy this morning but fortunately it stopped raining as soon as we left the harbour.  We enjoyed the beautiful landscape of the surroundings when we headed further out on the bay. After 40 minutes sailing we noticed a flock of birds flying around few hundred meters away, we decided to check out if we could find any cetaceans in the same area. When we arrived we spotted a group of 3-4 white-beaked dolphins ahead but when we started to sail towards them we saw another group of 4-5 dolphins very close to us. We saw these beautiful animals swimming all around us, at times it was hard to follow them because they were spending a long time under water but luckily we kept spotting them again and again. On the way back we saw a group of 4-5 harbour porpoises surfacing between gannets that were sitting on the water surface.
