Report from Eldey: Incredible day! More than 20°C, clear skies, flat seas and extraordinary encounters as we got to see a white unicorn! April´s fool had to be present in our diary today!! Despite celebrating the international day for jokes, we had a great time out there. Weather related we faced the usual carousel we are used to in Iceland: sun and clear skies turning into stormy and snowy weather. However, we enjoyed a great pod of 8-10 white-beaked dolphins with some calves among them. One of them was showing off as HE (we could photograph the genitalia slit) was leaping and jumping out of the water several times, a pleasure for a cetacean´s passionate. The rest of the tour we were sailing in smooth waters and enjoying the snowfall as we returned to the harbour.

Report from Eldey: April´s fool day begun with a good joke made by weather: instead expected spring we had to remove snow from our boat. Big flakes were falling all morning and in that conditions we sailed out, not seeing much first but with time conditions improved so much that an hour later sky was blue just like the ocean around us. Waves were rolling us up and down but without wind we had decent sailing conditions and luckily we didn´t need to go far to find cetaceans. Pod of 10-15 white-beaked dolphins was in the area, probably looking for food as sea gulls were following them. Dolphins were jumping, tail slapping and coming close to boat - all what we need to have a perfect dolphin encounter.
