Tour at 13:00

On this tour we got two brief visitors: two white-beaked dolphins which suddenly appeared in front of the boat and bowrode. Then they left as suddenly as the came. After that we spent some time searching and spotted a very active group of harbour porpoises. They swam very fast and spent a lot of time at the surface breathing. That made it easy for us to spot them and watch them. Usually they are shy, avoid boats and are difficult to spot. A bit later we found another fast traveling group of harbour porpoises and again spent some time with them. On the way back to the harbour we spotted a third group in the distance but we didn't stop for them.

Today we had at least four different groups of white-beaked dolphins. The funny thing about this was that all the four groups behaved almost completely differently. The first one was very shy and pretty much avoided the boat. The second group was funny to watch. They approached the boat, dived under it and played around it. The third group was a fast traveling group and we had to sail quite quickly to keep up with them. The fourth group was a bit like the fast traveling one but aproached the boat once. Our passengers could "study" almost the whole range of dolphin behavior :-)
