Report from Elding: These evening tours are really a treat by themselves. The lighting is phenomenal and the fact that we managed to see a pod of 7-8 white-beaked dolphins and 4-5 minke whales surfacing around us, made this tour a complete package. With lovely passengers and a lovely audience, it was pleasure as well for our on board musician Palmy to rock hard and entertain everyone on the boat. Happy crew, happy guests.

Report from Eldey: This turned out to be a great tour! We sailed out from Reykjavik in similar weather as earlier today, and as always we were excited to see what Faxaflói had to offer. We had only been sailing for 30 minutes when we saw a minke whale, but we made a quick decision as we heard of a larger whale in the area. So we quickly left the minke whale to go see a humpback whale. It was amazing to see this humpback whale and it came to the surface quite frequent, two minutes apart and showed the fluke every time. Perfect! After enjoying this animal for some time, we saw jumping dolphins in the distance and went to have a look at them too. It was a really nice encounter with 8-10 white beaked dolphins, and we could follow them swimming under the water. On our way home we saw more minke whales, and just before we reached Reykjavik we saw another pod of 3-4 dolphins. What an amazing tour!

Report from Hafsulan: The weather was quite favoring and matching a really promising tour! Our first sighting was a minke whale, that unlike most of its kind, was quite relax and easy to fallow. Therefore all the passengers were able to observe the animal, sometimes at a quite close range! After we enjoyed this graceful rorqual for a long period of time, we decided to let it be and started searching for something else. It did not take us long to spot a blow far away that turned out to be a humpback whale! This was also easy to keep track and as we were in its presence we could also spot 3 more minke whales spread out around us. The tour could not have ended on a better note!

Report from Eldey: We sailed out with the wind, so it really felt like a warm afternoon out in the bay. We kept scanning the water surface as we spotted a very active flock of seabirds. Unfortunately upon reaching the spot, the action was gone so we went on but it didn't take us too long until we spotted our first minke whale. It was a really sneaky individuals but we managed to spot it for quite a few times. As we went on on our tour we spotted a pot of white-beaked dolphins, probably 5 individuals coming in for some really nice close ups. On our way back to the harbour we spotted another minke whale and a couple of harbour porpoises. Another beautiful sighting afternoon in Faxafloi!

Report from Hafsúlan: As tricky the Icelandic weather is, we had sun for the first 20 minutes of the sailing, with a nice overcast situation after that. Still, visibility was excellent and nothing was gonna elude us on this tour. After about 45 minutes into the sailing we saw splashes. It turned out to be a pod (10-12 individuals) of very friendly white-beaked dolphins. They gave us a cool show, since they came cm from our boat, swam under the boat and were even jumping out of the water, revealing their whole majestic bodies. We even had a brief encounter with "Humpie" one of the celebrity minke whales we have here in the bay. It was a lovely trip we had and the happy faces we greeted at the end were proof of that. :)

Tour 09:00
Report from Eldey: The conditions this morning were good, as we only had 4-9 m/s from east and almost no swell. We sailed from Reykjavik, and it took approximately an hour before we had our first sighting. On the tour we had about 10 white beaked dolphins in total. The first pod we found was not in the mood to interact with us, so after a few minutes we continued our search. We saw a lot of bird activity, and went to check it out. It was a good plan, as we saw 2 minke whales. The whales were feeding and we got some really good looks at the animals. On our way home we encountered another pod of dolphins, and they were really entertaining. They jumped out of the water and came close to our boat. It was a great tour in Faxaflói.
