Tour at 13:00

Report from Hafsúlan and Elding: In the afternoon the weather had still not improved a lot, but we still had a lot of courageous passengers accompany us on the two boats in the afternoon! And they were rewarded with some great looks at a Humpback Whale we encountered after about 45 minutes of sailing. It surfaced very close to the boat on different occasions and gave us some beautiful looks at the bright white underside of its fluke. And while we were rolling around in the waves waiting for it to surface again, it breached right next to the front of our boat. It produced a huge splash that almost showered the boat - it was that close!! Unfortunately, not many of us were looking at the right spot when the whale jumped out of the water - but a lucky few were fortunate enough. What a tour!

Tour at 09:00

Report from Hafsúlan: The weather had turned not so nice today, considering how wonderful it was yesterday. The sea was rough and it rained quite a lot but our passengers were tough and still decided to join us even after the warning. The wildlife was incredible, first we saw breaching White Beaked Dolphins and there seemed to be a few groups of these in different directions. Difficult to get close at first but in the end it was nice and you could see them traveling under the water towards the boat. Then later on in the tour after another hour of sailing we hit the jackpot. One Humpback Whale which was just amazing. Like a David Attenbough documentary with surface feeding and rolling, birds and Harbour Porpoises too. At one point the whale was feeding under the boat and came up both sides just a meter from us. It was incredible and life changing.
