Report from Eldey: Today we can definitely say that it was windy! But with no rain and very warm temperatures considering it's almost Christmas, it was still a good day to go out. The waves were very short so even the sea was relatively calm.
As has become tradition, we headed towards the island Viðey to go look for our by now almost resident whale. It took us a little while to find it, but surely enough the good eyes of our captain spotted the blow of our humpback whale Viðey in the distance! Encountering this whale is absolutely wonderful because it feels so comfortable with the boat around. It was feeding along the islands coastline for around half an hour. Then it began logging, a type of resting behaviour. Probably it just had a full belly and was ready to relax. With some time left of the tour, we headed out in the direction of the lighthouse Grótta in search of other species. But the tour ended with Viðey being the star of it and probably being the image of many photos and videos taken of it by our passengers.
