Report from Hafsulan: For the last tour today we were welcomed by some light rain, but winds were not too strong and sea conditions were smooth, when heading out into the bay. Our first sightings were 2 minke whales, that surfaced around our boat repeatedly and that were easy to follow for a while. We enjoyed some time with these beautiful animals, before they left this area and we kept going as well. A short encounter with a pod of 3 white-beaked dolphins took us by surprise only a few moments later. However, these individuals were quite elusive, but we found another pod of white-beaked dolphins later on, again 2-3 individuals. This pod was more relaxed, allowing us a closer look at them, before we started our journey back towards Reykjavík.

Report from Hafsulan: The wind picked up a little bit on this tour, yet the temperatures were calmer and the sea was stiller! A paradox we gladly welcomed, and thus we sailed in the blue, lazily joining an area that turned out to be a minke whale festival! Without being able to assess with precision the number of individuals, we found ourselves surrounded by 10-12 animals surfacing in every directions and every distances around us! The next step came organically: we shut down the engine and just basked in sun and wildlife. Guided by the sound of the blows, it was easy to get close views at the minkes as they neared the boat on their own. We stayed in this area until we went back home enjoying the weather.

Report from Hafsulan: Another extra day of summer? Yes please! This is the cards we were dealt with this morning. No complaints from here, we put on our sunglasses and headed out straight away. We had an exciting tour with 6 minke whales, including Tap, an old buddy we know since 2007! Next encounter was a pod of 10-12 white-beaked dolphins that, without being specially curious about us, allowed us close by and treated us to beautiful sightings. That was a golden beautiful morning tour !
