Report from Hafsúlan: The wind had picked up this afternoon and so the sailing had bit more of a rock to it. We sailed out for about 40 minutes and saw splashes in the distance, a pod of 5-7 White-beaked Dolphins, feeding and splashing around. They came past our boat a couple of times and surfaced under and beside us, passengers got a great look. Then we saw a big blow in the distance towards Keflavík, so we were of to investigate. The other whale watching boat informed us of a blow they saw close to us and so we stopped and saw a Minke Whale surfacing, it was very unpredictable where it surfaced but I think everyone say it at least once. After a short time we continued our journey to the big blow and was so happy to see that it was a Humpback Whale. We saw it many times and once it even surfaced just 2-3 meters in front of us. We watched it for a long time and was about to go before the Humpback did one last surface and brought its magnificent tail above the water. Perfect way to end the tour.

Report from Hafsúlan: We sailed out from Reykjavik Old Harbour with the sun on our backs breathing in the crisp wintry air. It was a very difficult morning with the wildlife. We saw both White-beaked Dolphins and Minke Whales. We saw three pods of dolphins in different areas, 3-4 animals in each, very busy feeding, scattered and hard to follow. The third pod we saw was a little better and surfaced a couple of times next to the boat before heading off again. The Minke Whales, saw two this morning, one in the distance and one close. They were going on very long dives so a lot of patience was needed. A beautiful but difficult morning on Faxaflói.
