Report from Eldey: We were greeted by a gentle breeze on our way out of the harbour. Overcast was over our heads, but nevertheless, we wore sunglasses in the way back. The bay seems to be active as ever. We spotted 3 pods of white-beaked dolphins with a total of about 20 animals. While we "hung out" with two of the pods we observed the animals feeding, resting and leaping into the air as well. At times we had to look down as they passed close to the boat. There were also a few juveniles with one of the pod, so it was nice to have a look at family of creatures so different, yet so alike us. Minke whales (2) decided to show up as well. Lazily passing by the area, we were lucky enough to have a good look of these gentle giants in their search for food.

Report from Hafsúlan: Another beautiful day in Faxaflói Bay, calm seas and sunshine. We have been very spoiled with weather over the last few months and we are loving it! We headed straight out to the area where we were the last few days and once again plenty of wildlife to see. We saw a minke whale in the distance after 1 hours of sailing and once closer there were minke whales all around near and far. Closest encounter was only 20-30 meters from the boat and with the calm seas we could see minke whales surfacing kilometers away. We must have seen at least 10 individuals. One of them was a celebrity to us ´Spider´ an individual we have seen frequently since 2010. We can identify individuals by the nicks and notches of the dorsal fins. After an amazing time with the minke whales we searched for other species in the bay and after 20 minutes saw some small splashes in the distance, a pod of 8-10 white-beaked dolphins. They were also enjoying the weather, socialising with both each other and teh boats. Leaping, bowriding and we believe a few were even mating. It was a great day!

Report from Eldey: The sky was  slightly cloudy but the sea was flat and after our successful tour we headed out from the harbour very optimistic. After half an hour of sailing we spotted our first minke whale just in front of the boat, we decided to stop our boat and let the people enjoy this wondeful animal but suddenly we were surrounded by 6 minke whales feeding. Apparently the area was full of fish because two pods of 7 white-beaked dolphins each and one pod of 4 harbour porpoises wanted to join us. It was a real joy to watch all those animals together and our passengers were able to take those memories with them.

Report frmo Hafsúlan: It was sunny and warm most of the time but we got very light rain as we got further out. We had a little bit of an undercurrent, but besides that, it was very calm. We had to sail for a while before we found any whales, but our patience proved to be well worth it as we encountered 3-4 minke whales, one of them came very close! And after that we found a pod of 4-5 white beaked dolphins, they came up to us and were just swimming around us for a while until we ran out of time and had to go back. A very beautiful tour!

Report from Elding: Sailing off into the sunset, with the weather being still warm and dry, the wind picked up a bit as soon as we were out of the harbour, but we were accompanied by atlantic puffins and northern fulmars on our search for whales and dolphins. It took us a bit more than an hour to find our first encounter, with one pod of about 10 white-beaked dolphins. Those playful animals were leaping out of the water, bow ride and were diving under the boat. It was a real treat to watch them. Then we got distracted by a minke whale, which we tried to follow, burt the animal turned out to be rather shy and disappeared on us quickly. But we managed to find another two close to us and were able to see them surfacing a few times before they also disappeared. To finish this beautiful tour, we encountered one harbour porpoise passing by the boat on our way back into the harbour.
