Tour at 13:00
Report from Eldey: Weather was even warmer than this morning when we began our afternoon tour. Overalls were not needed, it felt like a summer day ! In the continuity of the 09:00 tour, it was not long before we spotted our first individuals, the frenzy happened suddenly. We had several minke whales surfacing around us. Among them we also sighted a humpback whale ! Adding to the confusion, a small pod of 4 - 6 harbour porpoises surfaced next to the boat before quickly disappearing. There was so much to see in the same area ! We clearly stepped in a feeding area, as the minke whales displayed feeding behaviours. Another evidence of that was the fish swarming beneath the water surface, making it sparkling. For a while we could follow the humpback and have very close looks at its majestic pectoral fins. We were lucky enough to witness it raising its fluke out of the water, going for a deep dive. When this whale started to swim away from us, we decided to get closer looks of the minke whales. We moved our boat a little bit and could catch glimpses of a minke whale surface feeding and rolling at the water surface, showing its pink belly ! After a while we started to sail again, hoping to find maybe some dolphins but we were stopped in our way by the same humpback whale we saw earlier. We could have few more looks at it before it was time to go back home. Truly an incredible tour in an incredible weather !

Report from Eldey: It was a beautiful morning with sunshine and weak winds. This also brought perfect sea conditions. We headed straight out in the bay with the sun in our backs. Further out we entered a very productive area with both minke whales and harbour porpoises, feeding! Maybe 5-6 minke whales could be seen far and near the boat. From time to time in excellent photography light and short distances. We could really enjoy these whales and everyone got excellent views. The porpoises was spread out throughout the area and it was maybe 30-40 of them, at least! We had one of the best porpoise encounter us guides onboard ever have had, several times they swam up to our boat showing their whole body as they swam close to the surface. Nothing you see everyday when it comes to harbour porpoises. When we decided to search again and see what we could find, we didn't had to go far as soon a big blow was seen in front of us. It was a humpback whale! We could follow this individual the rest of the tour as it went for dives and resurfaced close to us. We got to see the fluke going out of the water on 3 occasions, always a special sight seeing these whales raising the fluke for deeper dive. We could return to harbour in sunshine and with whale memories.
