Report from Eldey: We sailed out of Reykjavik under light rain and through Southern winds . We headed towards the areas where whales and dolphins are more frequently sighted around the bay and searched carefully. However, a layer of fog started to fall, compromising our visibility a bit and there were no flocks of active birds around either. Birds do play an important role during our whale watching tours, as some of them share the same prey as the species of cetaceans we sight around here. This adding to the fact that, just like us, whales and dolphins have differnt moods and perform differnt activities, sometimes it is easier to spot them than others. They can be quite conspicous. However, as this trip does not represent the experience our company is able to provide, we gave all our passengers the oportunity to joins on another tour for free. Hope to see them all again next time,
- Ines Cunha
Birds seen on today's tours: northern fulmars, cormorants, eider duck, black-backed gulls.
We are sailing from the Old Harbour in Reykjavík today for the 13:00 tour. It is quite windy out on the bay today and if you are prone to seasickness, we do have seasickness tablets free of charge. It is always colder on sea than on land so make sure to make use of our warm overalls.
