Today we will be operating on our lovely vessel Eldey for the 13:00 Classic Whale Watching tours. Make sure to dress appropriately for the tours as it is always colder on sea than on land.

CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING 13:00

Report from Eldey and Elding: Today we didn´t have to go far to see the wildlife: a humpback whale was feeding right off of Viðey island. The individual came to the surface often and showed us the fluke as it went down to look for food. The whale came close to our boats and while they didn´t seem to interested at first in our presence, a little while later the humpback lifted his head out of the water to spyhop! We were very pleasantly surprised to see this relatively rare behaviour, especially when it was followed by a short pectoral slap and another spyhop. We admired the whale a few more moments and in the mean time Elding also spotted some harbour porpoises, and then we all headed back to Reykjavík.
