CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 09:00
Report from Eldey: even though we had no flat seas, the conditions today were great to spot any sign of life in the bay! We sailed out under a light rain, that disappeared as soon as we started going a bit far out. We saw a minke whale in the distance, and on the way to check it out, we had our first encounter with a pod of 10-12 harbour porpoises passing by! They were very predictable and it was easy to spot them while they swam away from us. When we got to the minke whale, we realized we actually had 3 minkes around us, going to different directions. We spent a while with these animals, watching them in different distances, while they popped out closer to the boat. We could see them multiple times, as they arched their back for a deeper dive. On the way back, we got to see the porpoises again, in a smaller group: a couple of dorsal fins popping up before following their way. Then, we returned to rainy Reykjavik after a chill and lovely morning with our favorite animals!

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 10:00
Report from Elding: We sailed out to the rough sea, jumping up and down the waves, excited to get to see some whales. As we reached the furthest point of our travel, we encountered a minke whale in the distance. As we came closer to it, we realised the waters around us were full of them: for the next 30 minutes, this individual and 3 more of its kind roamed around us, blowing in the air. Happily, we sailed back with the waves pushing us back to the harbour, content of our morning sightings.

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 13:00
Report from Eldey: The rain from the morning has stopped and we had instead a beautiful sunshine during the whole afternoon, but with a bit more of wind. Guess that's what they say about summertime in Iceland: all types of weather in one day! We sailed out looking for the whales and dolphins, covering many areas. We had a bigger challenge spotting them because of the choppy seas, but we still felt positive. However, after exploring other areas, we ended up not seeing the animals in this tour, so we decided to give out complimentary tickets so the passengers have another chance of seeing them for free.

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 14:00
Report from Elding: As we sailed out into the windy bay, the waves picked up in sizes but we were sure to repeat this morning's sightings. After arriving to our aimed spot of activity, we finally saw a minke whale: this individuals roamed around us, feeding several times, showing the tip of its mouth for all to enjoy. It was accompnied by 3 other individuals during the whole tour, as the zone we had found was surrounded in several bird pecies and in minkes. We headed back happy to have reiterated the sighings of this morning, finishing this very surprinsingly nice day in the rough seas.

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 17:OO
Report from Eldey: For this tour we had the sun and a clear sky above us all the time. We decided to change another area compared to the previous tour and we just spotted 1 minke whale after few minutes outside the harbor. Its behavior was quite elusive but we managed to see the dorsal fin twice. After waiting a bit longer we moved more further out but we have not been more lucky. We spent all the time trying to spot some more wildlife but we didn't. So, close to the end of the tour, all the crew decided to give to all the passengers another chance to see cetaceans with their complimentary tickets.
