Report from Elding: The wind was blowing intensively whilst leaving the port. After the "dolphin party" that we had in the previous tours of the day, we were willing to witness another wonderful show. To be sheltered from the strong wind, our captain, wisely, decided to sail close to Snæfellsnes peninsula so, in addition, we had the chance to cherish the beautiful views of the mountains we were passing by. One funny harbour porpoise decided to jump right next to the boat once but, unfortunately, only two or three people saw it. More or less around the place we left the white-beaked dolphins at 16:00, we saw a lot of splashes in the distance. It was really far away so we were crossing fingers to have them when we arrive. Once we got to the place, we were waiting for a few minutes but the dolphins were somewhere else. We had all our attention all around the boat trying to find other animals until we got to the harbour but, this time, it was not possible. Nontheless, we offered our passengers the possibility to come back within the next two years here or in Akureyri, without any extra cost and they were really happy to hear that.

Report from Eldey: The wind had picked up a bit, but it was still partly sunny and we had good visibility. We headed out towards the area where we saw the animals on the morning tour, there we found a few species of birds, but the whales seemed to have left that area. We decided to sail a bit back into the bay instead of going further out because the wind had picked up a little bit more and we were seeking some shelter from the shore. And it turned out to be the best desicion because on the way back in we spotted 2 pods of about 15-20 white-beaked dolphins! They were very active, jumping out of the water making some big splashes when landing, and then they swam right over to our boat and started bow riding, using the current around the boat to propel themselves through the water! It was such an amazing encounter, and we all came back to the harbour with big smiles on our faces!

Report from Eldey: The sun was waiting for us in the harbour to give us and ideal start of the day. The wind was blowing softly and the sea was calm. Sooner than expected, we saw an small blow in the distance. As we were approaching we had the luck of enjoying a minke whale swimming calmly really close to the boat. In the meanwhile, another minke whale appeared in the distance, together with a big flock of feeding artic terns. Once the two whales had decided to appear somewhere else, out of our sight, we continued our saling. Few minutes after that, we encountered two pods of about 14 feeding white-beaked dolphins. It was amazing to see them feeding around, jumping and doing bow-riding. We even had the chance to witness the acrobatic behaviour of two baby dolphins!! After a couple of minutes, they dissapear but, soon after that, another group of 10 of these dolphins appeared, to delight us. We spent a great time with them until it was time to head back to the harbour. To our surprise, in our way back, another group of this charismatic dolphins appeared close to the boat. It seemed to be a dolphin party morning today!
