Tour at 13:00

The weather was great this afternoon when we headed out from Reykjavík. Close to the area were we found the whales this morning we spotted our first minke whale. But there was not only one in the area, at least 4-5 minke whales and a small group of harbour porpoises showed up for a short while. The minke whales were very nice to us like in the morning, surfacing frequently and some came very close to the boat and one time there were two surfacing in the same time so it was difficult to decide which direction to look. There were not many birds in the area and when we visited the puffin island Akurey there were not many puffins at home. But all together very nice tour with many sightings.

Tour at 09:00

In beautiful weather we sailed out from Reykjavík this morning. The sun was shining and visibility was perfect. We visited the puffins at Lundey (not many at home) and very close to the island, one harbour porpoise surfaced a few times before disappearing. After that we headed out to Faxaflói to find some more whales. After sailing for some time we spotted a flock of feeding birds, and close to them a minke whale. And in this area we spotted many minke whales, about 7-10 animals, busy feeding and the bird live was very active as well. So we returned quite satisfied after a very successful tour out on the bay.
