Tour at 13:00
Report from Eldey: When we left the harbour in Reykjavík this afternoon, it had started to snow again, and the snow should accompany us for more than half of the tour. Our passengers got a taste of the Icelandic winter weather today. We were searching for cetaceans for a very long time today and just hat the occasional bird flying by, until we headed back to the harbour. However, on the way back we took a route that covered a more southern part of the bay and that's when suddenly a minke whale appeared only about 60-70 m away from our boat. It surfaced another time on our side before it went for a dive. It was fantastic to see a minke whale so late here in these waters, maybe it will spent the whole winter here with us instead of migrating to the tropics. We waited a few minutes and saw it once more right in front us, but it went for dive again and we didn't spot it again. Most of the passengers that had been standing outside managed to get a look at this minke, but we offered all of our passengers a complimentary ticket for another free tour with us. Hopefully, a minke or dolphins will stay around a bit longer then.
