We are sailing out from the Old Harbour in Reykjavik today. We predict a mild wind from the east and some swell.

Tour at 13:00

Report from Eldey: This was a perfect day for whale watching, no swell, almost no wind and great visibility over the bay. Ii is definitely not always so smooth to sail here from Reykjavík in the winter time. In these conditions we were optimistic to find animals on the tour and we  we stayed for a longer time and went a bit further out than usual. There seemed to be very little life in the bay today, few birds were seen flying around but we got a couple of kittiwakes joining us when they followed out boat for about 15 minutes. Sadly no cetaceans were seen on the tour and for that reason we offered all of our passengers complimentary tickets so they could come with us on another tour.

Birds seen on the tour: northern gannet, northern fulmars, eider ducks, great cormorants, common guillemots, iceland gulls, glaucous gulls and greater black backed gulls.
