Tour at 13:00

Report from Hafsúlan: The wind had picked up a little bit but is was still very nice to be out on the water. This time we tried our luck at Akurey (puffin colonie of about 19,000 breeding pairs). It looked to be bare of puffins but many other birds were present. We headed offshore to the area we went to this morning but nature had dispersed apart for a few birds sitting on the surface. We searched a very large area but unfortunately no whales this afternoon. We gave our passengers complimentary ticket in the hope they will return for free and have better luck on the next tour.

Tour at 09:00

Report from Hafsúlan: We sailed out today in beautiful weather, sun was shining the sea conditions were great and you could see all the details of the mountains. We started the tour at Lundey (puffin island with about 5,000 breeding pairs) and it was teeming with birds, the puffins seemed be mainly on the water but many other birds where on the island. We sailed then offshore, after about 40 minutes of sailing we started to see flocks of feeding seabirds, this was a good sign. A Minke Whale surfaced. We watching this minke for a while seeing it many times and very clearly. It was also fantastic to watch all the birds, kittiwakes swooping down to grab small animals (zooplankton) from the surface. It was hard to tell exactly how many whales we saw but it must have been at least 2 or 3.  Great morning tour.

Birds seen on today´s tours included; Puffins, Gannets, Fulmars, Kittiwakes, Black-backed Gulls, Black Guillemots, Common Guillemots, Razorbills, Greylag Geese, Brent Geese, Eider Ducks, Cormorants, and Oystercatchers.
