Tour at 9:00

Report from Eldey: Sailing out from the old harbour of Reykjavik our trip started with some rain and a strong breeze. However the weather got better when we were out in the bay and the spotting conditions were good. Nevertheless, we were not able to find any cetaceans on this tour. Although we covered a big area on this trip, the animals did not show. So, we enjoyed the fresh air and the nice view we got from time to time. To give our passengers the chance to see the dolphins and whales another time, we offered complimentary tickets to go on another tour with us.

Tour at 13:00

Report from Eldey: Sea and weather conditions were still very similar to the morning: a fresh wind from south west accompanied by some rain and this time even some snow. But well equipped with our warm overalls, the most people spent their time outside and enjoyed the ride while looking out for whales. Unfortunately, it took us a very long time to see any sign of wildlife. As we were already on our way back, we spotted some scattered birds sitting on the water surface. When we checked out the area, we were surprised by a pod of 4-5 white-beaked dolphins which showed up out of nowhere. They were most likely travelling as they swam very fast and disappeared after only two brief surfacings. So only a few lucky passengers got a glimpse on them. That's why we handed out complementary tickets to all our guests to give them the opportunity to go on another tour with us and give our whales and dolphins a second chance.

Birds seen during our tours: northern fulmar, northern gannet, lesser black-backed gull.
