Tour at 13:00

Again we headed out with some nice weather. We found a group of white-beaked dolphins which swam towards us and it seemed that they swam underneath the boat. We weren't able to spot them again, as we were distracted when a Minke whale showed up quite unexpectedly! We were able to spot it a few times but it was diving for a really long time! We headed on and were able to spot one more Minke whale a few times, and finally a small group of harbour porpoises on our way back to the harbour.

Tour at 9:00

Hafsúla: The weather was still very good and our sightings were fine, too! Right in the beginning we saw many feeding gannets and there we spotted funny harbour porpoises. While watching them we spotted suddenly a minke whale! Of course we liked that a lot and saw it surfacing several times before it went deep diving. The minke whale was such a long time diving and we decided to go further because there were dolphins further away. The white-beaked dolphins were spread out over a large area. They were all very fast swimming and we had to sail quite fast to keep up with them! And what a surprise, another minke whale suddenly surfaced twice while we watched the dolphins. After a long while following the dolphins we searched for more minke whales and found a third one! This time we stayed calm and waited for it to come up to breathe again. We had success after a long time waiting for it but very nice and playful harbour porpoises shortened our waiting time :-)

Report from Elding: We set off on a nice calm sea and sailed directly out to search for the whales. We came to an area where there were some feeding Gannets and around this area there were many groups of Harbour porpoises, we could really see them everywhere we looked! We headed out a little bit further and came to another area full of white-beaked dolphins. We had dolphins around us for about half an hour. Towards the end of the trip we finally spotted one Minke whale, but only once unfortunately! The Minke whales were very tricky to spot this morning!!
