Tour at 13:00

We started a second time from Grindavík, after the long search in the morning. The weather was still amazing and we decided to check out another area close to land this time. As we were sailing not that far out than in the morning tour we hadn't that much swell most of the tour. Again we needed to be really patient and optimistic. We already passed the harbour in Grindavík a second time and tried to find Whales on the other side of the town, when we suddenly spotted some black fins far away. And we found the best of all, a pod of Orca in the open sea!!! What a great surprise after this long search, there were two male Orca and one female Orca with a calve coming really close to us. One of the males surfaced not more than ten meters away from our boat. A bit further out we saw more Orcas surfacing, just a wonderful scenery. Again we learned that it is worth to search for a long time and you never should give up hope when you want to find Whales. On the way back to the harbour we had some waves coming towards us, so the boat moved quite a bit but this was a fantastic day on the sea in the Icelandic spring!!!

Tour at 9:00

Due to strong winds and swell in Faxaflói Bay we decided to start our tour from the harbour in Grindavík today. We had high hopes when we left the harbour in really nice and sunny weather. During the tour the wind got a bit stronger, what caused some swell on our way back. We were searching for a really long time in a big area and didn't give up until we were close to Grindavík again. Unfortunately the Whales didn't show up on the morning tour, so everyone on board got a complimentary ticket from us, to try to find the whales again.
