✔ CLASSIC WHALE TOUR ON SCHEDULE | 09:00

Report from Eldey: It was nice to have a little wind on the morning tour to break up the still days and have the air moving a little. This didn’t affect the wildlife though as the bay was just full of life. We saw at least 4 different humpback whales, one that stole the show breaching, flipper slapping and rolling many times it was just wonderful to watch. Everyone onboard was loving the show. A show that the whale did because it wanted too, not because we encouraged it in anyway. If this wasn’t enough we also saw two minke whales and a pod of 4-5 white-beaked dolphins. The dolphins seemed t be chasing one of the minke whales and the others played under and around us. Passengers also loved the abundant puffins out in the bay too. An incredible tour.

✔ PREMIUM WHALE TOUR ON SCHEDULE | 09:00

Report from Þruma RIB: Very nice conditions again even if some wind picked up during the night and that the sea was a little bit more choppy than the previous days. We first stop to see the puffins that were mainly in the water this morning. We headed in direction of the south of the bay trying to find something. We spotted a pod of 7-8 white beaked dolphins. They were sometimes very close together sometimes swimming quickly probably travelling. In the group there was at least two little ones. We stayed with them a while and went to find something else. We could not find anything out far in the bay but we knew that another boat found a whale near Reykjavik so we headed back. We could find the humpback whale and it gave us quite a show. First a fluke dive or two and then it breached three times ! We were all very surprised and happy to see that. After the breaches the animal was much more calm. It was time for us to go and we head back to Reykjavik.

✔ PREMIUM WHALE TOUR ON SCHEDULE |  10:00

✔ CLASSIC WHALE TOUR ON SCHEDULE | 13:00

Report from Eldey: Once again we had a very nice tour with 2 humpback whales, one minke whale and hundreds of birds of all different types; Atlantic Puffins, northern gannets, Arctic Skuas, arctic terns. The humpback whales were a lot of fun on this tour by doing a lot of lob-tailing (throwing their tails up and slamming them on the waters surface), both of them did this even though they were in completely different areas. We left once other boats came to the area and as we wish to be a responsible company we don’t like to see too many boats around the same individual. We sailed home and enjoyed the warmth of the indoor saloons and a hot chocolate.

✔ PREMIUM WHALE TOUR ON SCHEDULE | 14:00

✔ CLASSIC MIDNIGHT WHALE TOUR ON SCHEDULE | 19:00

Report from Eldey: Weather conditions were pretty good, not much wind and no rain made it in a way easier for us to start our search for the whales. After aabout 30 minutes we got a glimpse of a minke whale, but not more more. It took us a bit of time, maybe around one hour to properly see a cetacean. This one was called hooker. It is a humpback whale we know of from other tours. it displayed and arrange of moves. From diving to scanning for food. Obviously we did our best to actually not bother it. It was a rather good tour with a lot of enthusiasm from our passengers. Some of them had good questions indeed. Hope everybody learn something and left with more hunger for wildlife in general.
