Report from Elding: The weather this afternoon was not much different. A little drizzle of rain here and there and some longer waves on our way out, but overall still pleasant. We set our course to the area of this morning since there had been so much fish we felt sure the whales would still be around. But we did not need to go far to find them – it was after around 40 minutes that, although far in the distance, we saw a huge splash! It was definitely a whale breaching and so we knew where to go. It was another quarter of an hour but then we reached what turned out to be 2 humpback whales closer to us and one in the distance. Both seemed to be foraging, diving for longer periods and popping up in varying directions. After a few close surfaces, we moved on just a little further and found 2 minke whales! Also they were definitely on the look for food and, to our pleasure, surfacing frequently. To top it up, we suddenly had another breach of yet another humpback whale! Action packed afternoon for everyone today.

Report from Elding: It started off as a rainy and foggy sail, but around half an hour out of the city, things cleared up and we had perfect visibility. Our usual 45 minutes after departure, we encountered small flock of birds, giving us first signs of fish around. And from there everything happened within a heartbeat. At least 3 minke whales were feeding inbetween the birds, one humpback whale alongside the ones we were close to and another 2 humpback whales in the closer area around. We saw breaching and lunge feeding, raising of pectoral fins and of course the beautiful fluke. Sailing back, more minke whales showed up and, to our surprise also a single white-beaked dolphin. Three species and a smooth sail back accompanied with great music left everyone in a good mood.
