Report from Elding: We had beautiful weather this afternoon, in spite of the cold wind, but that's just the typical Icelandic summer! We sailed out to where we saw blows earlier in the day and again we were not disappointed. We saw a blow in the distance and once getting closer we confirmed it to be a humpback whale! At first it seemed to be travelling and we monitored it for a while. After some time another blow was spotted and seemed to be coming towards us. Suddenly our nearest humpback had a change of behaviour such as changing directions and staying underwater for shorter periods of time suggesting it was feeding and soon both were feeding in the same area but not together. Finally some great humpback whales to get some photos of. What a great tour we had!

Report from Elding: The wind had calmed down a little but it was bitterly cold, like the winter had returned. brrr! we dressed up warm in the onboard overalls and a hot choclate was more than welcome at the end. We headed out to our favourite areas and found a flock of feeding birds that looked promising. Fast as lightning 'the name of our boat in English' a minke whale surfaced. we treid to spot it again and a couple of passengers did but by that time we spotted a blow in the distance, hopefully a humpback whale. It was indeed. We must have seen the blows of at least 2 different individuals but they were going for super long dives and surfacing in the distance. They never fluked, brought the tail above the surface. and it was hard to see the body at all, So for a while it was difficult to know for sure the species. Lots of whales but we wouldn't saw any good encountered so we offered our passengers complimentary tickets to come again and hope to see them better next time. It was still great fun and we enjoyed being out on the ocean.

Report from Elding: As much as starting the day with a whale watching tour might sound like the perfect plan, this excursion did more than rising up to everybody’s expectations. Our adventure started sooner than anybody anticipated. We did not even had time to leave the dock, as our chins dropped by the sighting of a humpback whale, right there, inside the harbour! It was possible to observe this angel of the sea for quite a long time while it was feeding. Once everybody got the chance to store their memories through loads of pictures and video recordings of this charming giant, we decided to finally head off the harbour in search for something more. As we intensively scanned the sea, it was not possible to find more cetaceans outhere. But that precocious sighting definitely made our day. Another great tour with Elding!
